   Reason I’m responding is not so much as to comment -cause it speaks for itself that the extensive wildlife in the posted images is stunningly beautiful- but a request to clear some of the adjectives describing the (Sulawesi) Pitta.
   I’m somewhat confused about the parenthetical information, seemingly to clarify a distinction between the “Sulawesi Pitta” and the “Sulawesi Pitta (recent split from red-bellied Pitta)”, cause to me they look completely identical; but since I’m no ornithologist I can’t figure out why both names/birds are included in the listing, leading me to the following questions:

   1] Exactly when and why, was the description of “recent split” added?
   2] Is there a distinction to be made at all? In other words, are they indeed different from each other?
   3] If they are separate types, how exactly do they differentiate?
   4] Can their sex be identified accordingly, and if so, by which characteristics (eg colour, size)?

   Thank you so much for your time, I really hope you will clear things up for me, no rush…

     Hi Sir

     in My post about Sulawesi Pitta and the Sulawesi Pitta (recent split from red bellied pitta) it’s same.
     some year ago, the red belied pitta in Sulawesi, Halmahera, Papua it’s and another area it’s just called Red bellied pitta.
     But, on November 2016, a book published “Birds of the Indonesian Archipelago” by James Eaton and his friends. the splited 23 species of Red bellied pitta.
     so, now in Sulawesi become Sulawesi Pitta

   PS: I understand why I’m mistaken for being male, but I’m actually female 🙂
   I’m called “Beau” (or Beautje) for my nickname, cause it’s the 1st part of my family name; but it’s quite okay, most people get it wrong when there’s no avatar as a guide…
